The Legacy of Mary Ellen Ankeny Clark
As of February 23, 2016 Mary Ellen had 18 (known) descendants: 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 2 GG grandchildren.
Mary Ellen's oldest daughter, Eunice, married Mr. Webb Souers. They did not stay in Connecticut with the rest of Mary Ellen's family. Eunice and Mr. Souers moved to Iowa. Webb Souers worked in the drug sales business with Mr. Ernest Warren Brown. Mr. Brown was a successful and wealthy businessman and the husband of Susan Ankeny Brown. Susan was the daughter of John Fletcher Ankeny, the niece of Ellen and the cousin of Eunice. It's interesting that the husbands of two cousins were in business together. It seems that the Ankeny family stuck together in family and business dealings. Eunice and Webb Souers are buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.
